Vinod Keni
Vinod Keni is a seasoned serial entrepreneur and experienced management professional with a proven track record of success. He combines a deep understanding of the entrepreneurial and business world, and ability to articulate a plan and vision in various business contexts and environments. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge ranging from start-ups, funding to IPOs and restructuring.
Vinod is the Chairman and CEO of Aquarian Group, a holding company with interests in outsourcing, retail services, real estate and entertainment. Vinod is associated with SCP Private Equity Partners, a US-based private equity fund with over US$800 million under management and has actively looked at investment opportunities in Asia.
He was the co-founder & President of a KPO focused on providing services to the financial services industry including banks and insurance companies. Clients included large insurance companies such as AIG, General RE, OIL, Aeon, and ZC Sterling. He was also the co-founder and VP-Finance of VerticalOne, a financial web services company, and helped conceive the business plan and help raise more than 15 million in venture financing. VerticalOne was successfully acquired by S1, a publicly traded financial software company (NASDAQ: SONE) within a year of its founding.
He also founded Aquarian Group’s Financial Advisory Services, which provided financial advisory services that included interim CFO services, strategy consulting, and restructuring, and bankruptcy support services. This group has provided support to the restructuring and bankruptcy filing of several well known companies.
His professional experience includes being the CFO/VP of Finance at HeadHunter.NET, and filed its first Red Herring for an IPO, as well as helped secure funding from ITC Holding. As CFO of eCredit, he helped the company restructure and change strategy, which helped it scale up substantially. He also helped secure funding from several funds including ICG & Battery. As CFO of several fast growth tech and traditional companies, he has helped with business strategy and execution, funding, deal structuring, M&A, as well as exits. These include companies such as Perk International, VirtualPremise, CyberScrub, ConnectCare, and companies in retail, food services, services and IT security.
He was part of the founding team, and the CFO, Secretary and Treasurer of HomeCom Communications, an early pioneer in Internet services and software. He helped the company secure venture capital and subsequent rounds of funding, assisted with strategy and execution, and supported the company’s explosive growth of more than 200% quarter over quarter. He subsequently led the company’s NASDAQ listing as its CFO, Secretary & Treasurer.
Vinod helped Intel establish its operations in , and was its VP of Finance for the SouthAsian & Middle-East region. He has also worked with Ernst & Young, .
Vinod Keni is the co-founder and Director of the Atlanta HighTech CEO Council, the leading executive networking group in Southeast USA . He is also a co-founder of the Atlanta chapter of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs), a global organization that nurtures and promotes entrepreneurship. He was a member of its Executive Committee, and is a Global Charter Member. He is a member of the Board of Directors of several privately held companies in the , as well as on the Advisory Board of several public companies and a bank.
Vinod holds an MBA and an MS in Finance. He has completed executive management programs at Harvard Business School, State University, and Emory University
