Ajay Gupta, is the Strategy and Marketing head for Ericsson in India. He has 30 years of experience across software, consulting and telecom. During his career he has been in setting up new businesses, managing P&L, sales & marketing, product management, operations and engineering.
His current area of work involves creating strategies to drive future revenues across telecom and adjacent segments, understanding of consumer segments and behavior. He is involved in drawing up industry roadmap to deliver broadband services to masses India and improving customer experience of services.
Prior to Joining Ericsson, he was part of the Sasken where he was instrumental in setting up the telecom business and diversified the company from VLSI design tools to telecom. Later he was part of executive management team at Hughes Software Systems which was later acquired by KKR and turned into Aricent. He was instrumental in setting various strategic business units both in products and services space and managing them.
He has been involved in many merger and acquisitions. Ajay has managed business and teams globally across Asia, US, Europe and Japan and has lived in multiple cities in India and abroad.
Ajay is an Electronics and communications engineer and has completed executive management and leadership programs at Kellogg school of management and Stanford University.
