Amit Mehta is an Independent Advisor to businesses such as the LN Bangur Group.
He works closely with the LNB group and has helped them with the exit of their Pulp & Paper business, foray in new businesses like Agri-Warehousing, Agri-Plantations, Renewable Energy, etc. He also oversees a treasury portfolio of around USD 200 Mn and has helped complete private investment transactions on behalf of the group in sectors as varied as Dairy farming and milk products manufacturing (India’s largest Cheese manufacturer), E-Commerce (India’s leading Online Flash Retailer), Infra & Financials (India’s leading Power Exchange) etc.
Earlier, Amit has worked at the Steel Global Business Unit of Tata International.
He has the unique distinction of being one of the youngest in the entire Tata Group to have successfully completed the Business Excellence Leadership Program (BELP) in 2005 thereby becoming qualified as an external Assessor of the Tata Business Excellence Model (TBEM) - an adaptation of the renowned Malcolm Baldrige Model. He was also nominated as the FIBRES Champion (Fact & Information Based Reverse Engineering of Strategy).
Amit is a qualified Chartered Accountant, M.Com besides being a member of various professional bodies like the Associate of Certified Treasury Managers (USA), Association of Corporate Advisers and Secretaries, Institute of Internal Auditors (USA). He is an alumnus of the prestigious St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata.
He is a Nominee on the National Executive Committee of FICCI and also a Member of the FICCI Committee on Corporate Laws and Capital Markets respectively. He is a past member of the Committee for Members in Industry of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
