Anil Chanana

Anil Chanana is the former Chief Financial Officer of HCL Technologies Limited (an IT Services Company with turnover in excess of Rs. 50,000 crs., 1,32,000 employees, offices in 44 countries and market capitalization of Rs. 1,30,000 crores). He took retirement from the Company in December 2018 after having been associated with HCL for 35 years. In addition to my role as CFO, he was overlooking Legal, Commercial, Global Compliances, Secretarial, Procurement, Facilities creation and Administration function. He has been interacting with the investors globally (including the private equity investor who took stake in the Company). He was involved in a series of acquisitions and joint ventures in areas like digital, software products/product companies, business process companies and so on. Also, involved in setting up the effective risk management by having policies like Foreign Exchange hedging, investments of surplus funds. Chairman of the Risk and Compliance Apex Committee (2014-18) having oversight responsibility for Information Security, Privacy, Business Continuity Plan and Vendors Risk. He is responsible for setting the agenda for the board meeting and the meetings of the Finance and Audit Committees of the Board. Among others, he has assisted the Chairman in selection of board members. Until retirement, he was on the board of several subsidiaries of HCL both in India and overseas. He was awarded HCL Technologies Chairmans Inaugural Hall of Fame Award 2018 in recognition of exceptional leadership, commitment and dedication. He got the prestigious Institute of Chartered Accountants of India Award CFO - Information Technology Sector category, 2015. He is the recipient of Best Performing CFO in the IT & ITES Sector-2012 award by the CNBC-TV18 and Institute of Company Secretaries of India National award for Excellence in Corporate Governance, 2012. He is a Chartered Accountant by profession which he completed in 1980. He did his graduation in Commerce (B.Com. Hons.) from Hans Raj College, University of Delhi in 1977.
