Ankit Agarwal heads the Telecom Products division at Sterlite Technologies. This includes the Optic Fiber, Optic Fiber cable, Fiber connectivity and Copper cable products. In addition, he is responsible for identifying and executing strategic opportunities globally for Sterlite, including Mergers and Acquisitions, Joint Ventures and Greenfield projects. He has been instrumental in expanding the global footprint of the Telecom business by successfully executing and managing Joint Ventures in China and Brazil. Prior to Sterlite, Mr. Agarwal led the Corporate Strategy of Vedanta Resources. Mr. Agarwal played a key role in Vedanta’s recent strategic transactions including its $8.6 billion acquisition of Cairn India, and $2.6 billion bid for ASARCO.
Prior to Vedanta, Mr. Agarwal was an Analyst for 3 years at the Investment Banking division of Deutsche Bank (London). He played a significant role in key cross-border transactions such as Tata Steel’s acquisition of Corus for US$12 billion & Eurasian Natural Resources $2.7 billion IPO. Ankit holds a Bachelors degree from University of Southern California and an MBA degree from London Business School.
