Attended four year Bachelor of Engineering course and graduated with a degree in electrical engineering from Manipal Institute of Engineering in 1995. Attended two year Masters in Business Administration course at the Stern School of Business at New York University and graduated in 1998.

Joined the family business in 1999 and held several positions and responsibilities. The business which was an approximately 100 crore business in 1999 is currently a 1200 crore business. C&S Electric is a 50 year old family controlled business which manufactures a diverse range of products for use in electrical networks. Currently I am one of three Managing Directors amongst the second generation which manage the business.

Initiated into the family business with a leadership role in the all India sales of our electrical component business. The assignment from 1999-2003 was an exposure to numerous customers and more than 300 distributors across various locations across India. It gave me a good understanding of business cultures across India and the retail network for industrial consumables.

In 2003 was given charge of two business units protection relays and power busbars – both around 10 crores in revenues. The protection relay business was in the stage of decoupling from a German JV partner. Led the transfer of technology largely in firmware and software, and the development of new products thereafter based on these firmware architectures. The business is currently a 50 crore business.

The Power Busbar business was aided by the boom in the power generation industry and the real estate sector. Led the addition of product capacities and the launch of new products, which were made in India for the first time. Led the shift to completely new facilities spread over 25000 sq meters in Haridwar which was a challenge in itself since it was the company’s first non- Delhi manufacturing facility. Currently the business is a 250 crore business with major market share in India and several customers overseas. To augment the international market, led the acquistion of a European manufacturer of similar equipment thereby increasing our product and geographic portfolio and business unit revenues to 375 Crores.

In 2007 was also placed in-charge of a new joint venture for making MV switchgear. Led the JV set-up and also the technology transfer. The Portuguese partner later opted out of the JV but the technology transfer was smooth enough to allow the company to grow to 85 crores in revenues last year.

In 2011 led the set-up of Haryana’s first solar plant to be grid-connected. The 1MW facility was a jump-start to a solar EPC business which now mainly focusses on roof-mounted grid connected and captive solar systems.

In addition, was involved throughout my career in several initiatives at the corporate level with regards to financial management, IT, HR and corporate governance.
