Atul Nishar

Atul Nishar epitomizes a true global, corporate citizen, having founded several companies which create value for their sizeable international clientele. He is a successful serial entrepreneur and a keen investor, and also involved in philantropy and cultural exchange. 

Atul Nishar is the Chairman of Hexaware Technologies Limited, a Company that he set up in India in 1990.  Under his leadership, Hexaware Technologies has grown into an over USD 500 million turnover, 11000 people, global software and BPO services company with offices around the world.

An entrepreneur by nature, he founded Aptech Ltd. in 1985, a computer training company which he grew into a leading global IT training outfit with over 2000 centers across 52 countries. The company trained over 3 lakhs students per year and the highly successful joint venture in China was set up by Aptech under his stewardship.   He was the Chairman of Aptech till early 2003.

To further his interest in entrepreneurship and encourage new ventures, he invests in start-ups.

An active and known figure of the Indian IT industry, he was Chairman of National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) in the year 2000 and continues to be on the Executive Council of NASSCOM.  He is also a Charter Member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), Member of the Managing Committee of Indian Merchants Chamber and was Regional President – Western India Council of Indo-American Chamber of Commerce, 2007 – 2009.

As a patron of art & culture, in 2010 he set up Namaste America – Indo-American Association for Art & Culture with a view to provide a platform for cultural exchange and promote goodwill between the American and Indian communities. He is the President of Namaste America.

In 2000, he established the Atul Nishar Charitable Trust, a not-for-profit organization, with a vision of enhancing education & healthcare for underprivileged children, for rural development and to build a better society. 

A thought leader, he has published several articles on Information Technology in leading Indian publications and has been a speaker at conferences organized by Harvard Business School, NASSCOM, TiE, World Congress on Information Technology, US Consulate, FICCI, and CII.

Atul Nishar is a FCA (Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) and received his Bachelor Degrees in Commerce and Law from University of Bombay.
