Deval Tibrewalla

Deval Tibrewalla is a 5th generation entrepreneur and is currently CEO and Director, Polo Towers Group which owns and operates Shillong's only 4 Star hotel which is also one of the largest hotels in the North East. It has played host to multiple dignitaries such as Ambassadors and Celebrities. Polo Orchid Resort in Cherrapunjee (the worlds wettest place),is a sprawling leisure destination and is also operated by Hotel Polo Towers. Under Deval`s direction, the group is currently implementing 2 more hotels in Guwahati, Assam and in Tura, Meghalaya. By 2016, the group aims to have 10 hotels and more than a 100 outlets under its own and under other international brands. Deval also conceptualized and built Chrome Hotel in the heart of Kolkata. India's first design hotel, Chrome has won a raft of awards including the World Architecture Forum Award for best new Hotel.Chrome was also chosen to be a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World alongside hotels such as the Oberoi Udaivilas and the St. James Hotel in London. The Hotel Polo Towers Group has since exited from Chocolate Hotels Pvt. Ltd, the parent company of Chrome Hotel in a landmark deal in the Indian Mid Sized Hotels space. Deval also actively manages the investment portfolio belonging to the family office.

He is a graduate of the prestigious Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne which was the world's first hotel school. He holds a Bachelors in Commerce – Accounting and Finance from St. Xaviers College Kolkata, India`s premier college for undergraduate business education. He is also currently pursuing his masters from Harvard University. A keen runner, Deval is interested in distance running and fitness. He also is passionate about cars and driving and was an official at the Raid de Himalaya, one of the world's highest altitude car rallies that drove through treacherous terrain in the Himalayas. Deval is also a trustee of Mahabir Jan Kalyan Nidhi which is the Tibrewalla family`s charitable foundation which supports Nanhi-Kalis initiatives in girl child education and partners the Government of Meghalaya in its Skill Development program.
