Karan Kumar carriers over two decades of experience investing in and helping to build leading growth companies including Copal Amba. In addition to being the Founder and CEO of Amalthea Capital, he is also an active member of the Investment Committee at Amalthea. Karan also serves on the board of several of the portfolio companies; currently he holds positions as the Managing Director of Copal Amba Middle East & Africa LLC (DIFC CL0892), Pivot International FZC and TheBoston Initiative.
He also owns and manages a very successful trading business within the UAE, under the name of Sanjaanika International LLC. Karan has rich experience in several sectors including Energy, Finance, Infrastructure, Hospitality, Food & Beverage and Healthcare. Karan is an alumnus of Harvard Business School and is also a qualified Corporate Lawyer.
His most recent venture, Amalthea Capital Limited was promoted by himself and established within the DIFC as a Proprietary Investment Fund, which was set up to invest in companies that are either in the growth stage or other promising start-ups, that have qualified the due diligence process of the fund.
