Narendra Murkumbi graduated as an Electronics Engineer and then did his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad in 1994. Over last 24 years he has founded three companies in the fields of bio-pesticides, sugar and now solar energy. Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd., co-founded by him in 1998, is one of the largest manufacturers of sugar in the world with operations in India and Brazil. Ravindra Energy Limited, another listed company is in the field of Solar Projects, Solar rooftops and Solar water pumps for agriculture. In addition, the not-for-profit Shree Renuka Sugars Development Foundation is active in the areas of education and healthcare and runs 3 CBSE schools in rural Karnataka.
