Pratap has had the opportunity to work with diverse set of companies in his two decade long stint in the Financial Services sectors. He has mapped the entire financial market’s landscape during his successful stint beginning from Apple Finance where he sold retail bonds, NCDs & FDs, to individuals raising debt for government institutions via Non-SLR bonds and selling them to Provident Funds at Centrum & Darashaw. He was also responsible for starting up a retail IPO distribution franchise during his career. Later he was given the mandate to set up the Loan Syndication franchise for JM Morgan Stanley. Post the JM-MS split, he was involved in marquee transactions in Leveraged Finance for an Auto ancillary & a large telecom tower company M&A Finance at JM Financial.                                                

At ING Vysya Bank, he was involved in starting up the Debt Capital Markets desk in India and headed the product. Later in 2011, he also set up the Loan Syndication desk for the bank in India & managed Underwriting & Syndication of Debt products for the bank’s marquee clients.                        

Having led & executed transactions in diverse products like Syndicated Loans national as well as international , Debt Syndication (Bonds/NCDs), Leveraged Finance for Local/Outbound acquisitions, Structured Finance Products (Mezzanine Capital, ABS & MBS Securitization, Hybrid Capital, Promoter/Sponsor Financing) and Private Equity, in early 2015 he started investing and incubating into start-ups like TalentServ (into HR Analytics), SoccerTrac (Grassroot Football) , LikeMyDress (Online Retailer).

Within Vermillion Capital, his vision is to become one of India’s most trusted advisors to the Indian Corporates in raising both forms of capital (Debt and Equity) through his network of relationships with Banks, Financial Institutions, Venture Capital and Private Equity Funds.                                          

Pratap started Vermillion with a singular thought assessed through years of loan syndication and raising capital for corporates. He realised that the SME sector in India has always been neglected as they don’t have proper access to raising debt & equity. This is when he decided to create a company catering to the SME target group. His industry knowledge and experience has helped him to incubate startups and provide them the necessary advice / solutions to expand their ideas and businesses.
