Raj Rathi did his engineering from BITS Pilani in 1986 in Electrical and Electronics. Immediately after passing out joined Research and Development department of HCL Ltd. Having worked with HCL for couple of years, Raj decided to pursue further education in management and joined Indian Institute of Management Bangalore specialising in finance and materials. His first job after IIMB was in Wipro as Materials Manager where he was instrumental stremelining process and in the process achieving savings for the company. In 1993, one of the Wipro vendors based in Singapore gave Raj an offer to work for a IT distribution company. Raj went over to join IT hardware distribution company ACI Singapore. He turned around the business of the loss making company in Singapore within a span of 6 months. Because of his performance, he was offered the position of Managing Director with equity in the company. Over the period of next 6 years, under the leadership of Raj Rathi, ACI Singapore expanded their operations into several cities in India and increased revenue from USD 10M to 60M.
Having gained good experience in IT distribution, Raj decided to start his own venture in 1999 and formed Cyberstar Singapore to distribute IT products in India and SAARC countries. Today Cyberstar has presence in 12 major locations in India apart from having a office in Singapore. After spending 11 years in Singapore, Raj also moved back with family to Bangalore to expand Cyberstar's operations in India. In financial year 11-12 Cyberstar achieved revenue of more than USD 50M and selling products from the well known brands like Dell, Acer, Fujitsu, Hitachi, Ricoh etc. Having managed his business operations successfully over many years, Raj is actively looking for mentoring opportunities where he can add value. He would like to join IAN to mentor few entrepreneurs based on his experience and create wealth in the process
