Mr. Satish Mandhana as Managing Partner - Private Equity and Sustainable Initiatives at IDFC has recently taken-up the mandate to initiate creation/co-creation/development of Sustainable enterprises while continue to manage PE Funds. He has over thirty years of experience in the areas of private equity, corporate finance, investment banking and business strategy. In his previous role as the Managing Partner & CIO, Mr. Mandhana was responsible for all investments made by the IDFC Alternatives platform in the areas of PE, Infra Equity and Real Estate and had direct responsibility for performance of investments under the private equity asset class. Mr. Mandhana represented IDFC PE Funds on the Board of Directors of VIOM Networks (now ATC Telecom Infrastructure Ltd.), SembCorp Green Infra, GMR Energy, HCG Ltd, MEMG etc. Mr. Mandhana joined IDFC Private Equity in 2006. Prior to joining IDFC Alternatives, Mr. Mandhana was the CFO & Head of Business Strategy at 3K Paper (2003-2006), where he effected a turn-around. Preceding this, Mr. Mandhana worked as Director of CDC Advisors (1996-2003) wherein, he was involved in many exits and investments Including the Initial Investment of CDC In IDFC and privatisation of Punjab Tractors. Prior to CDC, Mr. Mandhana worked with SRF Finance & GE Capital TFS (1992-1996), SRF Ltd. (1985-1992) and Eicher Goodearth Ltd. (1982-1984) in their investment banking, business strategy and industrial engineering functions respectively. He also had a short stint as an entrepreneur (1984-1985). Mr. Mandhana has been a member of the Government of India's Working Group on Power for the Eleventh Plan and a member of the Executive Committee of the Indian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association, Cieantech Forum and Confederation of Indian Industries Committee on climate change. Mr. Mandhana is a Management Graduate from the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University and holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
