Shankar is the co-founder of Marketics, one of India’s largest providers of Marketing Analytics services. Marketics was founded in 2003 and scripted a fantastic success story of revenue and profitable growth before it was sold off to WNS Global Services for an estimated $65 million in 2007. Marketics is an amazing story in wealth creation in a service industry - a dollar invested in Marketics at startup gave an incredible 3 million percent return in 5 years! Shankar possesses close to 12 years of experience which includes rich entrepreneurial experience in addition to Brand & Marketing management. Shankar oversaw the overall growth and expansion of Marketics from a fledgling firm of 8 people to a 250+ strong, highly profitable organization in a span of 5 years.
At Marketics Shankar pioneered the concept of Client Delight right across the firm; which is an attitudinal approach to exceed client expectations at all times by everyone. Shankar’s thought leadership enabled Marketics to not only create a winning business model but also to re-invent itself at critical junctures and move to the next level of growth. All of this has led Marketics to provide actionable insights through analytics for its clients leading them to re-look and change their marketing strategies. Their global clients included industry leaders like P&G, IBM, Universal Studios, Coca Cola, Nestle, Kraft, Sara Lee, Levi’s, RCI. Prior to Marketics, Shankar co-founded Perigee Online, a pioneering eCRM firm that developed cutting-edge technologies for Direct Marketing, before which he worked with Procter & Gamble AAI (ASEAN, Australia & India), in the Brand Marketing function. Shankar has lived through the previous business downturn in 2000 – 2002 as an entrepreneur and managed to come out of it successfully.
