Suresh Kumar

Suresh Kumar is a Global Digital Leader and an entrepreneur in the financial industry with experience in building the largest wealth management platform, NetX360, for financial advisors, industry leading platform for retail investors, NetXInvestor, and pioneering the online brokerage industry. He is now working with startups helping them scale.

Suresh Kumar was a Senior Executive Vice President and Global Chief Information Officer for BNY Mellon. Mr. Kumar served on BNY Mellon’s Executive Committee, the organization’s most senior management body. He was leading 13,000 technology professionals to make BNY Mellon the industry leader in delivering innovative and exceptional technology solutions. He was also the founder and Chief Executive Officer of iNautix Technologies, a BNY Mellon Company that provides offshore development services.

Before assuming the role of Global CIO of BNY Mellon, Suresh was Chief Information Officer for BNY Mellon’s Financial Markets & Treasury Services (FM&TS) group and Pershing LLC. Prior to his appointment as CIO for Pershing, he served in that role with CSFBdirect and DLJdirect. As part of the team at DLJdirect, he was instrumental in that company’s success in establishing a global presence in Japan, Hong Kong, United Kingdom and Dubai, and pioneering the delivery of online brokerage services via the Prodigy Network, America Online and ultimately the Worldwide Web. DLJdirect went public in 1999 on the NYSE as one of the largest Internet IPOs of its era.

In recognition of his achievements, Suresh was Inducted in CIO Hall of Fame in 2016 by CIO magazine. He was selected as the 2015 IVI Leader in IT Value by the Innovation Value Institute, Ireland. He was also named to Computerworld's Premier 100 IT Leaders for 2012 and CIO Insight magazine's annual list of Top 100 CIOs in 2007. Under Suresh’s leadership, iNautix, DLJdirect, Pershing and BNY Mellon received numerous recognitions and awards.

He served on various industry committees such as FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) Technology Advisory Committee, DTCC (The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation) Technology Advisory Boards and Technology Management Committee of SIFMA (Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association). Member of Stevens Institute of Technology and Pace University Advisory Board.

Suresh earned a Bachelor of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology at Madras, a Master of Business Administration degree from the Indian Institute of Management at Ahmedabad and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the New York Institute of Technology.
