Tushar Mehendale is the Managing Director of ElectroMech (www.emech.in), India’s largest manufacturer, for industrial overhead cranes. Tushar took over the business at the age of 24 after his father’s unexpected demise in the year 2000.
ElectroMech has since grown from being a 50 people company spread over 1600 sq.m. of area, manufacturing around 25 cranes per year for local Pune customers to a company that today employs more than 600 people across the country and in Middle East, with its main manufacturing facilities in Pune spread across 85,000 sq.m and manufactures in excess of 700 cranes per year for a global clientele spread across more than 35 countries.
Through various technical partnerships with global majors like Abus & Stahl from Germany and with joint venture with Zoomlion of China for manufacturing tower cranes, ElectroMech today offers products across a wide range of applications spanning different industries and geographies.
Tushar is a qualified Mechanical Engineer from Government College of Engineering, Pune and he did his MS in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from University of Wisconsin, Madison.
Tushar is a member of the Young Presidents Organisation (YPO).
In his entrepreneurial capacity, apart from the main line of business involving manufacturing of material handling equipment, Tushar has also spearheaded businesses involved in Real Estate, Shipbuilding, Healthcare and Agriculture.
