Vishal is the founder of Convonix and has over 12 years experience in running a fast-paced digital marketing solutions company, both as a start-up in the early stages and then as a part of a global holding company in the last few years. He has been responsible for strategizing the growth trajectory for Convonix and has been successful at taking it from 3 a people start-up to one of the largest independent digital marketing agency in the country before selling it to Publicis Groupe. He started his internet journey by launching an internet radio in 2000. This radio managed to garner 6.5 Mn unique visitors in a few months before being morphed into a teens portal during his college years. Realizing the importance for internet marketing in these digital ventures, Vishal launched Convonix whilst still in college and made it Indias first dedicated search engine optimization company. Vishal has steered Convonix through its various phases of growth, from a standalone SEO company to a 360-degree internet marketing solutions company with foot-print in and outside of India, strategizing and designing systems, processes and getting the right team in place that has led the company to maintain a CAGR of 50% over 12 years. He negotiated the acquisition of Convonix by Publicis in 2013, and then successfully led the integration of the Company with 2 divisions of Publicis, SMG Digital (The digital arm of Starcom Mediavest Group) and the Programmatic COE of VivaKi. At 33, Vishal was amongst the youngest CEOs in the Starcom Mediavest Group ecosystem and sits on the Global Leadership Council of SMG. As Chief Digital Officer of Reliance Jio, he has been responsible in designing and strategizing Jios online customer experience and e-care solutions, crafting its digital branding, marketing and acquisition and upsell strategy across online platforms using data driven solutions and across Jios own suite of apps. In 2006, Businessweek Asia voted him as the 4th best entrepreneur in Asia, under the age of 25. Vishal has also been an early stage investor and mentor to a bunch of high-growth and promising start ups that combine the digital and offline experience backed with data and machine learning.
